Over 100 officials from different ministries in CVC net Updated on Friday, October 30, 2009, 12:01 IST Tags:Corruption, CVC New Delhi: The Central Vigilance Commission has advised initiation of penalty proceedings against 106 government officials, including 21 each from Railways Ministry and Public Sector Banks, for alleged irregularities. The anti-corruption watchdog also advised imposition of major penalty against 68 officers including 14 from National Aluminium Company Ltd, 12 each from Central Coalfields Ltd and Public Sector Banks, six from Ministry of Railways . The Commission recommended launching of prosecution against eight officials including two from Ministry of Personnel, PG and pensions and one each from Indian Overseas Bank, Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, CBDT and Labour Ministry. Major penalties were imposed on 77 officers including a highest of 10 from Food Corporation of India, nine from Railways Ministry. While five senior officials - one each from Railways Ministry, Delhi Development Authority, Ministry of Mines, BHEL and Department of Heavy Industries - of the joint secretary and above level were punished during the month, the report said.
